Read a Book Review on ‘The Heart of Darkness’ by Richard Francis Dreyfuss

Deeda Andrada is a small town in Brazil. It is located along the Cabo de Rocha hydroelectric project. The town is at the confluence of three rivers, the Chagrin, Tapoule and Neve. The town was named by the American geologist, George Livingstone. Livingstone had done research on the Chagrin, which is where the hydroelectricity project is located. The name deeaanderson comes from the leader of the First Christian Army, which was based in this town.

The book, Deeaanderson, written by Livingstone is about his life and the life of the town of Deeaanderson. The whole concept of the book is basically about living in harmony with nature and living with courage. This is a story about how an ordinary person, living an ordinary life under a regime that was against all principles they held. Livingstone had an experience that was very important to the development of his character and how he overcame poverty.

The main character in the book is Carlos de EAanderson. He was born to a poor family in Ibirapuera. His father worked as a cane cutter on the plantations of Amazon in Brazil. When he was young, his father told him that he should study because if he didn’t, then he would be like the rest of the people who lived in poverty.

Because of this attitude of living an inferior life, his parents decided to send him away at 16 to live at a boarding school called Amistad, where he would learn to read, write and speak English. Carlos used to bring fruit to his mother’s house and sell it in the streets. One day, he witnessed an American student beating an indigenous tribesman for something that the latter did not understand. This ignited his passion to fight against racism and for social justice.

He joined the Army and served during the liberation of Morena. He earned the rank of major general and was given a commission to reorganize the liberated cities of Morena and Cabo de Rama. He organized street tournaments to find out what the people needed. As a result, he was very familiar with their culture and traditions. It was this experience which allowed him to write a novel based on the history of the liberated cities.

In one of the events that occurs in the story, he is assigned to find out why a tribe has hanged two women suspected of witchcraft. As he is doing this, he meets his former lover, Maria da Silva. She tells him that the witches had been killed by soldiers from the armed forces of General da Costa. Carlos was very touched by this event and decided to write a book based on it, which became The Heart of Darkness.
